ERROR: "Unable to copy the master software list"

    Description

    When running an inventory scan on a client the following error occurs:

    "Unable to copy the master software list. Your local version.. ldappl3.ini may be invalid."

     

    Cause

    ldappl3.baz is not in the LDLOGON directory on the core or ldappl3 files are corrupted.

     

    Resolution

    Prior to deleting the below files its a good idea to make a backup of the ldapp3.template

     

    1) Delete the ldappl3.base file from the LDLOGON folder on the core server.

    2) Open the console and go to Software License Monitoring. Click on Make Available To Clients. (this recreates all the ldappl3.* files)

    3) Confirm that the ldappl3.baz file is created.

    4) Rerun the inventory scan on the client.

     

    Or

     

    1) Delete all ldappl3.* files from the LDLOGON folder on the core server except the ldappl3.template.

    2) Open the console and go to Software License Monitoring. Click on Make Available To Clients. (this recreates all the ldappl3.* files)

    3) Rerun the inventory scan on the client.
