Content Replication / Preferred Server link is missing in toolbox and Preferred Server window does not open from Configure > Preferred Server

Version 1

    Description

    Content Replication / Preferred Server link is missing in toolbox and Preferred Server window does not open from Configure > Preferred Server

    In LDMS 9.0 SP2 console on the core and/or in the remote console you may encounter the following two issues

    a) Toolbox > Distribution in the consoel does not contain the item "Content replication / Preferred servers"

    b) Clicking on Configure > Preferred Server from the menu bar in the console does not open the Content Replication (and Preferred Server) window

    Resolution

    Both of the issues are related to a missing entry regarding the call to the class to open Content Replication / Preferred Server in the console. The call to the class is defined in the file enuTools.xml that is located in the root of \ManagementSuite\ folder. EnuTools.xml is missing the following lines

    <anyType xsi:type="ToolInfo">
              <_toolBoxText>Content replication / Preferred servers</_toolBoxText>
              <_className>LANDesk.ManagementSuite.FileReplUI.FileReplForm</_className>
              <_assemblyPath>FileReplUI</_assemblyPath>
              <_bitmapPath>resources\tools\bmps\FileRepl.png</_bitmapPath>
              <_showInToolsMenu>true</_showInToolsMenu>
              <_showInToolBox>true</_showInToolBox>
              <_group>Distribution</_group>
              <_groupIndex>2</_groupIndex>
          </anyType>

    To resolve this issue do one of the following

    1. Modify your enuTools.xml and add the lines above. If you choose this method, be sure you keep the format of the XML and the above lines are not added to the end of the enuTools.xml! You can add the above lines right before the line </Collection>

    2. Replace the enuTools.xml on the computer(s) exhibiting the above issue with the attached one. EnuTools.xml is located in the root of \ManagementSuite\ folder.
