LANDesk Patch News Bulletin: Microsoft has Released KB939820 to Address and Issue with Remote Desktop Connection 02-JUN-2011

    • (June 02, 2011) Microsoft has released KB939820. This KB fixes the possible following events 1925, 1006, 1645, 1055, 40961 on a Windows Server 2008-based domain controller or error message: "No authority could be contacted for authentication" when you use Remote Desktop Connection

    Notes:

    Since Microsoft has some license limitation for the patches in KB939820, the customers have to download the patches manually. It can be done by navigating to http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=939820&kbln=en-us.

     

     

    Downloading Steps:

     

         1. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=939820&kbln=en-us;

     

         2. Click the "I Accept" button;

     

         3. Click the "Show hotfixes for all platforms and languages " link to show all patches;

     

         4. Check all English patches;

     

         5. Enter your email address under "Provide us with your e-mail address, type the characters you see in the picture, and then click Request hotfix.";

         6. Type the verification charaters and click the "Request Hotfix" button;

         7. You will receive an e-mail with the zip patch download URLs and the password for unzipping the zip patches;

         8. Download the zip patches;

         9. Unzip these files with the password in the above email and put them into the folder on the LANDesk Management core server that you store the patches.
