    Service Desk 2016.x

When in Web Desk - System Preferences under Anonymous User you have previously typed in a user name but now want to clear this.  However, when clearing the field and selecting save the name keeps re-populating.

You can remove the anonymous user setting manually from the Web Access config file.

    1. Locate your tps.config file for Web Access - this will be in either C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Touchpaper\WebAccess or C:\ProgramData\Touchpaper\WebAccess depending on your OS version. From 7.6 the default path is C:\ProgramData\LANDesk\ServiceDesk\ServiceDesk.WebAccess.

    2. Take a backup of the tps.config file then open the original in Notepad.

    3. Locate the line "<add key="AnonymousUser" value="your user" />" and delete the whole line.

    4. Save the file and perform an IIS reset.
