Email Notification. Return is ignored and all text in the email is coming out on one line

    Problem:

     

    You have an Add Reminder that is being sent from Service Desk. In the Reminder's Description field in the Process you have typed in the following text:

     

    Username: 1

    Password: 1

    Username: 2

    Password: 2

     

     

    But when the email is received the text is type out all on the one line:

     

    Username: 1Password: 1Username: 2Password: 2

     

    Solution:

     

    This is caused by the Outbound Mail Settings being set to send out the email as HTML, ("Send mail as HTML" setting in the Mail Component in Console) but the Description field that is creating the body of the email is not set to be HTML so it will therefore not have any HTML tags in it.

    This will cause all text to be sent out in one line.

     

    To solve you can either choose to untick the "Send mail as HTML" tick box or set the Description field to have Data Type HTML in Object Designer.

    You can also add the HTML tag <br> which inserts a Line Break.
