Description
After upgrading to 9.0 Service Pack 3 the following conditions may exist:
Agent Configurations are not visible.
Security scan returns the status "no patches available".
Security Activity screen may not open.
Security Activity items are not visible.
HII driver library is not accessible
Patch and Compliance trend information is inaccurate.
Following is in the CONSOLE.EXE.LOG file on the Core Server:
10/01/2012 15:09:42 INFO 11224:Main Thread RollingLog : Critical Exception: System.TypeLoadException: Method 'ShowManufacturerModelDlg' in type 'LANDesk.ManagementSuite.OSD.WinUI.HIIDriverManagement.HIIDriverListManipulator' from assembly 'OSD.WinUI, Version=9.0.3.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' does not have an implementation.
Cause:
The Mobility b184 beta patch has been installed. The Mobility b184 beta patch contains version 9.0.4.7 of the LANDesk.ManagementSuite.WinConsole.dll, Vulscan.dll and localized versions of the vulscan.dll (i.e. enuVulscan.dll). These files are not replaced during the installation of Service Pack 3.
Resolution
- Uninstall the Mobility b148 patch from add/remove programs.
- Replace the 9.0.4.7 files with the correct version included with Service Pack 3. If you have installed any post SP3 patches, use the most recent 9.0.3.x version from the patches you have installed.
a. Replace LANDesk.ManagementSuite.WinConsole.dll found in the following directories:
i. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\LANDesk\LDMS
ii. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\LANDesk\LDMS\bin
iii. C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite
iv. C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\managementsuite\core\core.anonymous\bin
v. C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\MBSDKService\bin
vi. C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\wsvulnerabilitycore\bin
b. Replace Vulscan.dll found in C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\ldlogon
c. Replace localized versions of vulscan found in C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\ldlogon
i. Localized versions include; chsvulscan.dll, chtvulscan.dll, deuvulscan.dll, enuvulscan.dll, espvulscan.dll, fravulscan.dll, jpnvulscan.dll, korvulscan.dll, ptbvulscan.dll.
Vulscan.dll is automatically updated by client devices is necessary during their next security scan so no additional action is required on the client devices.
