When attempting to run Database Installation, an error is returned that starts with something like this:
Could not connect to the database or it is not the correct version. Please make sure of the connection information and then try again. Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'. The request failed with the error message: --
A large amount of html looking text follows.
Managed Planet's tools now use a web service to retrieve the database connection information. This indicates that there is something wrong with the web service.
Go into IIS Manager and check the MPServices application. Make sure it is configured for the proper version of ASP.NET (1.1 for LANDesk 8.7 and earlier, 2.0 for 8.8 or later). Restart the World Wide Web Publishing service. You may also need to restart the core server. By opening Internet Explorer on the core and entering http://localhost/mpservices/core.asmx in the URL, you may also get a more descriptive error.
