Issue: Scheduler service keeps crashing with event log entry

    Description

    The scheduler service crashes and needs to be restarted. Within the event log the following error message appears:

    Cause

     

    The COM+ components of Ivanti EPM do not have the privileges necessary. The COM+ User has to be a domain admin and also a member of the Ivanti EPM Administrator group on the core. The COM+ user is needed to link the LDAP directory with the Ivanti EPM database.

     

    Solution

    An often used scenario is to use the same account for scheduler and com+, where this user is also a member of the LANDESK Administrators.

     

    To change the COM+ User

    1. Go to “Administrative Tools -> Component Services” and right click on LANDESK.
    2. Inside of the context menu choose “properties”
    3. Change the user in the “Identity” tap.
    4. Repeat steps for LANDESK1.
