Mobile Devices will not Remote Control over Avalanche Web Console / How to set up Pre-Connect

    Envoirnment:

    • Avalanche 5.0 and higher
    • Remote Control 4.0

     

    Problem:

    The Java Console for AMC/ASE does allow RC to work but RC is not working for the Web Console.

     

     

    Solution / Workaround:

    Other workarounds may include the following:


    • Make sure that you set the IP address of the server that have RC installed as a service. By default this is set to localhost
    • This will generally be the same machine as the Avalanche installation. This is always true for the ASE install of RC and of course the Stand Alone install
    • Start up the RC console and click on "File" in the upper left hand corner of the screen
    • Choose "Change Server" to check that it is the IP address.The Web Console looks for the IP and not a domain name
    • Next, you will need to click on the Server Settings tab. Make sure the Server and the WAN address are the IP address as well. Be sure to click on "Update" if you make a change
    • Next, select the Licensing tab. Ensure that this same IP address as the other settings
    • Once all of this is done, deploy the changes and update the mobile devices

     

    If an issue still occurs with connecting go back into the RC Console

    • Select the Client Settings tab. Set the check box for "Pre-Connect to Server" and update the device again
