If there are any issues with Avalanche MC, you should be in the habit of obtaining the following log files:
Found in the directory. Contains information about Eserver-InfoRail communication, InfoRail-dServer communication, and EConsole-InfoRail communication.
Found in the \log directory. Contains information about the EServer activity on the main Avalanche MC system.
Found in the \log directory. Contains information about EConsole activity. (Note: If the customer has several remote consoles, then they should obtain the EConsole.log file from the remote system where they are seeing the problem.)
Found in the \log directory. Contains information about database access. (Note: This is only available in AMC 4.2.1 and later.)
Found in the \log directory. Will appear only if there is an error launching the EServer or the EConsole. - Deploy. Dbg/Deploy.log: Found in the . Contains information about the deployment of dServers. Obtain this log file only when there are issues with deployment.
Found in the directory on the system to which a dServer is being deployed. (If you are deploying a local dServer, then this log file will be found in the directory.) Obtain this file whenever there are problems with deployment to a particular system.
Found in the directory. Contains information about the operation of the License Server. Obtain this file whenever you are seeing licensing issues.
Wavelink.licFound in the directory. Contains all of the licensing information for Avalanche MC.
Found in the directory. This file contains more licensing info (in relation to the dServers). This file will only appear once the dServers have requested and obtained licenses from the License Server. Obtain this file when you are experiencing Licensing issues.
Found on the system hosting the Mobile Device dServer. It will be found in the \avalanche\service directory. This contains information about the dServer operation and should be obtained whenever there are problems with the dServer or problems with a device (this includes downloading packages, network profiles, etc.).
Found on the system hosting the Mobile Device dServer. It will be found in the \avalanche\service directory. It will only appear on the rare occasion that the Mobile Device dServer crashes or encounters a fatal error and must shut down. Older Log Files Most log files have a size limit. When the system reaches that limit, it creates a new log file and renames the old one (for example, Avalanche001.bak or some such.) Always get the latest log file, if possible. The latest log file is always the one with the names noted above. (Note: You can modify the maximum size of some log files through various settings, but that is beyond the scope of this brief tutorial.) Increasing Logging Levels Occasionally, you may want to increase the logging level to obtain more data.
