Using NT security for the Remote Control security type should not be used for systems that will need to be Remote Controlled through the Management gateway. (Only applies if Domain accounts are going to be used in the remote Control Operators Group).

Version 1

    Description
If machines are going to have a LANDesk client on them but are not going to be connected to the domain, Active Directory accounts cannot be used in the Remote Control Operators group.

    Cause
Remote Control needs to be able to verify the accounts in the Remote control operators group. If the client machine cannot communicate with the Domain Controller the Active Directory accounts cannot be verified.

    Resolution
If machines are going to be set up so they can be Remote Controlled through the Management gateway than it is recommended to use Integrated Security, Local Template security, or use local accounts for NT security in the Remote Control Operators group.

Note: If using NT Security, the local account has to be on the core server and on the client system (with matching passwords).
