Error in the map window:  Exception: No data in local tile cache in Adaptive settings

    Environment:

    LDMS 9.5 Sp1 and Newer

     

    Problem:

     

    When creating a GeofenceTrigger in Adaptive settings you may see the following error message:

     

    Error in the map window:  Exception: No data in local tile cache...  We are sorry but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region..

    Cause:

     

    This is due to a DNS issue in resolving pingtest.net that OpensStreetMap uses to check for network connectivity.

     

    Solution/ Workaround:

     

    • Create a hosts file entry that maps to pingtest.net to its IPaddress 72.21.92.82(check to make sure that address resolves or has not changed) or any ip address of a machine that returns an ICMP ping if your company does not use pingtest.net for any other reason.

    Or

    • Get the latitude longitude info from a different source and copy and paste it into the dialog box.
