    Remedy Actions: Remedy is a product that manages IT service requests. ALM has an integration server connector into Remedy servers. The settings to configure the connection are required for most actions and are found in the Design Console under Tools - Settings - Integration Servers Tab.

     

    Create Request

    Options: Request Form, Entry ID

    Description: Creates a request in Remedy

    Get Request Information

    Options: Request Form, Entry ID

    Description: Retrieves a request from Remedy.

    Update Request

    Options: Request Form, Entry ID

    Description: Updates a request in Remedy.

    Active Directory Actions: These actions perform general tasks in Active Directory. Just like many other actions they require a configured connection in Tools - Settings in order to function. These actions are commonly used in conjunction with an email listener. The listener monitors for certain content (which usually involves a new employee or termination) and then launches a workflow to create or delete the users account automatically.

     

    Add/Remove From Group

    Options: Action, Group Name, User Name

    Description: Adds or removes a user from an AD group. The "Action" option control weither it adds or removes.

    Create/Delete Group

    Options: Action, Group Name, Type

    Description: Creates or deletes a group in AD.

    Create/Delete User

    Options: Action, Create mailbox, display name, given name, login name, OU, password, surname

    Description: Creates or deletes a user from AD and allows for several options during creation.

    Get/Set User Information

    Options: Attributes, user name, results

    Description: Gets and sets user information for an account in AD. The get features are still in use however the set features have been superseded by the "Update account" action that includes all the attributes plus account options.

    Reset Password

    Options: Password, User name

    Description: The action will both update and set the account to change the password at the next login.

    Update Account

    Options: Account option, Attributes, OU, User Name

    Description: This action superceeds the set portion of the Get/Set User Information action and includes more options to update the AD user.

    Avocent Mergepoint Infrastructure: AMIE is used to graphically depict datacenter layouts using Data Plans (UDP)

     

    Get AMIEUDP Properties

    Options: AMIE Integration Server, AMIE Asset Name, Property Name, UDP, Results, Value

    Description: Retrieves AMIEUDP information.

    Set AMIEUDP Properties

    Options: AMIE Integration Server, AMIE Asset Name, Property Name, UDP, Results, Value

    Description: Sets AMIEUDP information.

    VMWare: In order for these integrate with VMWare, VSphere/VCenter needs to be installed on the ALM server and an integration server established in Tools - Settings - Integration Server Tab in the design console.

     

    Note: Most if not all of these actions are only available in the full version of ESX instead of the ESXi version. This limitation is due to licensing restrictions.

     

    Clone VM

    Options: Source Datacenter, Source Host Name, Source Virtual Machine Name, Same Datacenter, Target Datacenter Name, Target Host Name, Target Virtual Machine Name

    Description: Creates new VM's through the cloning process. A base system with the basic software/settings installed is typically used in this action.

    Power Control Host

    Options: Host System, Power Operation

    Description: Manages power for the physical server hosting virtual machines.

    Options: Virtual Machine Name, Power Operation

    Description: Manages power operations on the virtual machine

    VM Snapshot Control

    Options: Virtual Machine Name, Snapshot Name, Description

    Description: Creates or reverts snapshots of virtual machines.

    VMotion

    Options: Source Host Name, Source Virtual Machine Name, Target Resource Pool, Priority, Required Power State

    Description: Manages VMotion. VMotion enables live migration of running virtual machines from one virtual server to another with zero downtime. Several options are available to control it's resources etc.
