LANDesk1 COM+ Application Identity is using an Active Directory Account where the password was changed.

When trying to log into the Web Console, the following error occurs:

Unable to validate the current user with the database.

    Troubleshooting

    1. Enabling logging by adding a registry key to the Core Server:

      HKLM\Software\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Core
      Type: DWORD
      Name: LogEvents
      Value: 1

    2. Try to log into the Web Console again.

    3. Look at event logs.

    Cause

The password has been changed on the Active Directory account, but the new password has not been entered for the COM+ Application Identity.  This must be manually updated.

    Resolution

Manually update the password for the Active Directory account used as the LANDesk1 COM+ Application Identity. After updating the password, shut down and then start the LANDesk1 COM+ object.

In some cases, the caching of the credentials requires a reboot, even if the LANDesk COM+ object and IIS have been restarted.
