    Problem/Issue/Symptoms

     

    Trying to remote control a device, directly or via the Management Gateway / Cloud Services Appliance, the Remote Control fails returning one of the following messages:

     

    Unable to establish a secure session with the remote computer (-5)

    You do not have remote control rights

    The reason is that the user who started the Remote Control Console does not have the correct rights to remote control the machine. Usually this happens because the Remote Control process is not started by the user logged in to the Management Console, but by the user logged in to Windows.

     

    Solution

     

    1. Verify that the user you want to use have the necessary rights, roles and scopes assigned in the LANDESK Management Console

     

    2. Log in to Windows with the same username

     

    3. Start the LANDESK Management Suite

     

    4. Remote control your client
