Error on exporting to Microsoft Excel from LANDesk ServiceDesk.

    Question:

    When attempting to export Queries, Categories, Reference Lists etc. from Service Desk, I receive the following error message.

     

    Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID

    {00024500-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following

    error: 80040154 Class note registered (Exception from HRESULT:

    0X80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTEREG)).


    Answer:

    When wishing to export data out of Service Desk, ServiceDesk is looking to export and present the data to you automatically within Excel, the error message that is presented happens when ServiceDesk is unable to locate Microsoft Excel on the local client machine attempting to complete an Export. 

    For the completion of successful exports, please ensure that Microsoft Excel is installed to the local machine.
