How To: SSH into LANDESK Management Gateway Appliance and Elevate Rights

    During CSA troubleshooting LANDESK support may request the log file(s) which are located in /var/log, The admin account does not have direct permission to get the file(s), elevating the session will be required.




    There are 2 methods to elevate  the rights.

    1, On a remote machine (not the gateway), open an SSH terminal and log in as admin.


    2, You can elevate rights by typing "sudo su" and entering the "admin" users password again to elevate rights.
