CDW B2B Connector creates Duplicate Inventory Records

    Issue:

    CDW B2B Connector completes sucessfully. The rule does not merge with existing machines. It creates Duplicates.

     

    Cause:

    The Barcode field was not populated.  A typical misconception is that we merge records based off of the serial number.  We cannot use just the serial number as the link field because lenovo and ibm do not have unique serial numbers. We have a rule under Calculate Data called Computer.Barcode.  This rule should always be set as active. When this rule is ran, it populates the computer.barcode field on existing machines. Once this field is populated, our service should merge the two together. *Note - This rule is set to active by default.

     

    Resolution:

    Run the Computer.Bacode rule and then rerun the CDW rule.

     

    The underlying cause is that the active rule is not running.

     

    Please make sure Real Time Processing is enabled..

    Also make sure your Computer.Barcode rule has Active set to "Yes"
