    Error message:

     

    "This application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

     

    Problem:

     

    After the installation of Service Pack 1 on Management Suite 9.6 and after the deployment of the agent, the remote control does not work anymore.

     

    Cause:

     

    Issuser.exe cannot find the library Normaliz.dll

     

    Solution / Workaround:



    LANDesk Management Suite 9.6 SP1 makes use of the library Libcurl to solve security related issues.

    Issuser.exe(RC) requires the mentioned library to work correctly. Although Libcurl does not directly depends on normaliz.dll, Libcurl does and therefore the absence of this file, leads to have the remote control not installed on the destination systems which do not have this library.


    This issue can be resolved simply by the customer updating their OS’s to the latest MS patches or by simply installing Normaliz.dll on these systems.


    This is not considered a defect on our behalf as it is a reasonable expectation to have systems patched with a patch that released 6 years go (IE 8) or 9 years ago if they use the Microsoft Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) Mitigation APIs 1.1 patch.

     

    Perform 1 simple step to solve the problem. You can undertake one of the 2 following options:

    • Copy the Normaliz.dll into the System32 folder .
