    Wavelink Studio Com 3.7

Environment: Needing to put a Studio Client and Configurations on a rugged Mobile Device without a cradle (using SD Card).

Problem: No cradle or option to use Windows Mobile Device Center or ActiveSync to push the client and or configurations to a device.

Solution/Workaround:  You will need some sort of way to get a cabfile and a file to the device (SD, Device Management System).

    1. Download the Client Configuration tool (for the device you are needing the client for) from our website.

                Example:

        studown.JPG

        2.  Run and install the Executable program on a PC.

        3. Configure the Configuration Tool with the Host and any other settings needed.

             Example:

        stucfg.JPG

        4. On the PC the Configuration tool is installed on, go to the file folders and get the “Wavelink.cab”, and the “WlClient.cfg”, and put on the SD card.

These files will be on the PC in a location similar to here. C:\Program Files (x86)\Wavelink\Studio Client\”DeviceModelName\ .

              Example:

        stufiles.JPG

        5. Put the “wavelink.cab” on the device, then run the cabfile and install in the Default location. This will create a folder in the Program Files\Wavelink\DeviceModelName.

        6. Put the “WlClient.cfg” in the folder that was created. Have it overwrite the file on the device.

        7. Launch the Studio Client from the device, and the settings will be there.

    • This same process can be used on other products like the TelnetCE, IB, and Velocity.

    • It the client is an older client of TelnetCE / IB (v7.2.xx – older), then you can follow the same steps.

You will need to look for these configuration files hostcfg.bin, HOSTCFGS.BIN, S24CFG.DAT, and TERMCFG.BIN.

    • If the client needed is a current version of TelnetCE / IB (v7.3.xx), or any Velocity Client Configuration, there will be an updated_TelnetCE_73xx.ARM.cab

or updated_VelocityCE_10xx.ARM.cab that has the configuration already in the cab.

              Example:

        updted.JPG

         * You can be put this updated cabfile on the device, and then run the cabfile to the default location.
