Version 1

    LANDESK Security and Patch News

    ·       (August 5, 2015) Microsoft has made available an option for turning off automatic Windows 10 updates. LANDESK makes this functionality available in a patch manager vulnerability definition. The definition is named, DISABLE_AUTOMATIC_UPDATES_ON_WIN10. This definition checks the setting of the Microsoft Automatic Updates feature.
If the setting is enabled allowing Microsoft Automatic Updates, the client will be reported as vulnerable.
The remediation process will disable the Microsoft Automatic Updates feature. This will allow users to control whether updates are deployed automatically. L
ANDESK also provides a definition that will allow the user to re-enable the Automatic Updates feature. The name of the definition is: ENABLE_AUTOMATIC_UPDATES_ON_WIN10.
