Unable to log into a Remote Console. Error regarding SQL Server not found

    Description: When using SQL Express and you install a remote console the console may fail when logging in at "Connecting to database". An error is produces that basically says the SQL Server cannot be found. If you examine the console.exe.log file an error similar to below may be displayed:

    Resolution:

     

    SQL Express by default uses a dynamic port. The dynamic port is directed through the SQL Browser executable. The following two applications need to be added to the exception list on the Firewall. These features need to also be running which you can check by running the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
