LANDesk Management Suite: "Console Initialization Error (404) Not Found" or "The Operation Has Timed Out" Error When Logging Into Console

    Error message:

    When signing into LDMS with the core name and when signing into the core with the core FQDN:





    Cannot sign into core unless using "LocalHost" for the core name. There are other potential issues in the console as well such as, Configure services being grayed out and Unable to open and edit distribution packages.



    Proxy Server settings in Internet Explorer. IIS may also be configured incorrectly.


    Solution :

    Disable the proxy settings in IE:


    If that doesn't resolve the issue, follow the instructions below to verify HTTP bindings in IIS.


    Verify the HTTP Binding are not limiting connections to a particular method, (i.e. IP address, NetBIOS, FQDN)


    a. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
    b. Expand the Corename - Sites.
    c. Right click on Default Website, select Edit Bindings.
    d. For the HTTP and HTTPS types, make sure the IP Address and Binding Information columns are either blank or have an asterisk (*) in that place.
    e. Close the Site Binding, and try again.
