All Group members receiving all group messages

    Question

    All members of a group are receiving all emails for all group members, even if there is a specific group member assigned.

     

    Answer

    There is a new key that needs to be added to tps.config:

     

    AssignmentNotificationsToUserOnly

     

    So, to be used would be:

     

    <add key="AssignmentNotificationsToUserOnly" value="True" />

     

    This key should be added to all TPS config files.  From 7.3 this includes the ones for Service Portal and Web Desk.

     

    Please note that this key is only valid for Process Notifications. If you are setting up Escalation Notifications and you're notifying "Assignee" the email will go out to every User in the Group set to receive group notifications AND the Analyst AND all members of the assigned Role.

    If you are wishing to only notify the analyst in an Escalation Point, then select "User", right click in the drop down list and select "Value Type". Then select Runtime Value of: "Current Assignment/User"
