Notifications not being sent out after Optional Notes

    Question

    In this instance the customer had placed the checkboxes 'Notify Assignee' and 'Notify Originator' onto the Notes window. This was set up as an optional action within the process. Upon using this note however, no notifications were sent.

    Answer

    Only Assignments and Reminders can initiate a notification to be sent. A note would only be able to do this if, within the process, the next action is either an assignment or reminder.

     

    As the note in this instance is an Optional Action, it isn't going to be followed by an assignment or reminder – therefore it cannot initiate a notification.

     

    Recommend that the process is reviewed to identify whether notes are required to be part of the process
