Error: CommonCore.inf: (0x80004005) when updating the core server

    This error was pulled from a service update installation on the 2016 core server. However, this error can occur on any version of LDMS 9.5 and higher.




    Rename the "Install" folder in the following location:


    \Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\\ldlogon\AVClient\


    After the "Install" folder has been renamed, retry the install and it should proceed.


    If not, try the following:


    • Copy the 2 files, libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll, from ManagemenentSuite folder into ./Update/1/image
    • Run the Upgrade again, wait for the failure
    • In CMD, manually run the following command:


    C:\landesk_patches\ld960-sp1-core\updates\1\image\vulscan.exe /unzip%SPEQUAL_SIGN%"D:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\\ldlogon\" /dest%SPEQUAL_SIGN%"D:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\\ldlogon\AVClient\install"


      • If you install LANDesk on the C:\ drive, it should be like this:


    C:\Windows\system32>c:\landesk_patches\ld960-sp1-core\updates\1\image\vulscan.exe /unzip%SPEQUAL_SIGN%"c:\Program iles\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\\ldlogon\" /dest%SPEQUAL_SIGN%"c:\Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\\ldlogon\AV



    • Then go into ./Update/1/Commoncore.inf file and put a ; in front of the command line mentioned above to comment it out then save the file
    • Rerun the installer
