    LANDESK Security and Patch News

    ·         (August 15, 2016) Microsoft has released KB3115438 which is an update for Excel 2016.

This article describes update KB3115438 for Microsoft Excel 2016, which was released on August 9, 2016. This update has a prerequisite.

    Improvements and fixes:

Adds support for the Trace Precedents and Trace Dependents functions to tables from different worksheets.
Translates some terms in multiple languages to make sure that the meaning is accurate.
Adds some new and improved data connectivity and transformation features. See KB3115436 for more information.
This update includes the following fixes and improvements for the Power Pivot add-in in Excel 2016:
Fixes a race condition that occurs when you upgrade large workbooks.
Fixes an exception for the Measures function that occurs when you enter a formula and press ALT + H to check the formula. This issue occurs because the formula is only committed as soon as the focus leaves the formula editor.
Decimal numbers appear as integers when you have locale settings in which a comma is the decimal separator. Therefore, some numbers are 100 times larger than the actual values.
    Fixes the following issues:
When you call a method or property of a deleted worksheet in Excel 2016, Excel 2016 crashes.
Assume that you copy and paste a range of cells that have the ID property set in Excel 2016. If you use the ClearContents method to clear the contents of the pasted cells, Excel 2016 may stop responding.
Excel 2016 silently blocks the loading of untrusted HTML files. This issue occurs after you install MS16-088: Description of the security update for Excel 2016: July 12, 2016 (KB3115272). After you install this new update, Excel 2016 will open HTML documents (even if they're renamed as .xls files) in protected view instead of silently failing.
