"Turn Power Management off" task fails with error 2512

    When attempting to turn off power management using the "Turn off power management globally" task, the task fails with the error code "2512".

    Probable Cause

    The PWMCFG.exe file has become corrupt or is no longer located within the C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient directory on the client machine.

    1) Copy the PWMCFG.exe file from the core server located within the ManagementSuite\ldlogon folder to the affected client's C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient directory.


    Once it is copied, if Power Management is applied to the target machine, it will run and create a log file:

    You can then successfully re-run the "Turn power management off" task and it should succeed:

    2) Uninstall the agent (using the UninstallWinClient.exe /forceclean command) and reinstall using a generated standalone executable (created from within Agent Configuration).
