How to manually install the Remote Control "ENURCSetup.exe" when troubleshooting remote control issues

    Issue:

    When troubleshooting remote control failure issues initiated from Remote Consoles, you may need to reinstall ENURCSetup.exe manually. This necessity will sometimes occur after a Core and Remote Console upgrade. Sometimes the RCviewer, which uses C:\Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\isscntr.exe on the Remote Console, doesn't upgrade when an upgrade has been completed. Copying ENURCSetup.exe from the Core to the problem Remote Console and then running the executable will update isscntr.exe to the current version.

     

    This may be required on all Remote Consoles or just select machines in an environment.

     

    How to:

    1) On the Core server, navigate to \\<CORESERVER\C$\inetpub\wwwroot\Common\

    2) Choose your preferred language executable. English is "ENURCSetup.exe". The "EN" prefix means English. The "DE" prefix means German. Etc.

    3) Copy that .exe to your Remote Console

    4) Run ENURCSetup.exe

     

    isscntr.exe should be updated to the latest version at this point and attempting another remote session should work.
