Not receiving alerts. Identifying point of failure. (Draft)

    LANDESK Management Suite 2016.x

    Verify that the default rulesets have not been deleted

    If they have been, they will need to rebuild them. Alerting Rulesets are Incomplete or Empty


    Create Alert ruleset in LDMS

    Tools > Configuration > Alerting


    Publish the ruleset

    Right click on the ruleset

    Distribute the ruleset



    Check to see that the alerts are showing up on the core

    C:\Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\ldlogon\AlertRules

    Find the name of the ruleset

    Open the XML and find the individual alerts


    Check to see if the rulesets are pointing to the correct core name:

    Open C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\alertsync.log, and make sure there are no references to an old core name

    Unable to distribute alert rulesets. (Pointing to old core)


    Check to see if that ruleset was pushed out to the agent

    On the agent device, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\Shared Files\cbaroot\alert



    Test an alert. Check the alert logs to see if it was logged properly.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\Shared Files\Alert.log


    Check client agent connectivity
