    Introduction

    When using the Create Shortcut functionality within Environment Manager to create shortcuts to web sites (URLs), this results in .lnk (binary format) shortcuts being created.

    Detail

    An .lnk format shortcut can be created to launch the browser, passing the URL as a parameter e.g.

    Target File = %ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\IExplore.exe

    Parameters =  www.websiteUrl.com

    As shortcuts for URLs (extension .url) are .ini format text files, you could also make use of the text file update action of Environment Manager 8.1 onwards to copy a ‘blank’ .url file and update the URL= field
