When using Internet Explorer (IE) 9, the following ADM/x policy for the "Pop-up allow list" fails to populate, and the Registry is not updated:

    User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Component\Internet Explorer\Pop-up allow list

This is a Microsoft limitation of Iinternet Explorer 9 (IE9), and the same issue occurs when using native Windows GPO.

The 'Allow' sub-key located below is not created as default in IE9 and only appears when manually adding a site:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\New Windows\Allow

The issue is described here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2635543

The issue is not seen in IE8 and earlier versions.

A workaround is to use the below actions at Logon within EM policy:

    Create Registry Key Action:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\New Windows\Allow

followed by a 'Set registry Value' action for:

    Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\New Windows\Allow

    Value Name: www.site.com

    Value Type: REG_BINARY

    Value Data: 00 00

The "Pop-up allow list" option in Group Policy for Internet Explorer 9 does not work as expected - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2635543
