Deployment of configurations state 'Pending Install' when The Management Center is upgrading the CCA

    When a configuration is deployed along with a newer version of the CCA, the installation of the configuration is blocked until the CCA upgrade is complete. However, the AppSense Management Console displays the Installation Status as "Pending Install".

    This is more evident when the CCA is scheduled to install at a specific time, such as at Computer Start-up or on a schedule, when the installation of the configuration can be blocked for a longer time period.


    When there is a CCA upgrade in progress, the server ensures the endpoint does the upgrade first. In order to do this, the server strips any other package/configurations/prerequisite installation/uninstallation by removing these entries from the manifest response xml being sent to the CCA.

    Consequently, the CCA is only aware of the CCA upgrade instruction and waits for the installation schedule window to proceed.

    Either deploy the configuration first followed by a CCA upgrade instruction or deploy the configuration after the CCA upgrade is complete.
