    Description
    When trying to launch the console the following error occurs: Connection Failed: Object reference not set to the instance of an object.

    Cause

    Resolution
    Try these steps one at a time. Try to log in to the console after each step.

    1. On the core server, Back up and then Delete the layout for the affected user logging in. In C:\Program Files\Landesk\Managementsuite\layouts there will be a folder for each domain or machine, then a folder for each user that has logged onto the console. Delete the folder of the user that is getting the error logging in.

    2. Open the local groups on the core. If the accounts that are having problems are members of domain groups that have been added to the managmente suite group, add the problematic accounts to the management suite group explicitly.

    3. Manually stop all of the LANDesk and Intel services and reinstall the latest service pack.
