    Introduction

Environment Manager maintains a number of session variables. These are detailed in the Product Guides for each version of Environment Manager. However, in order to provide persistence of these variables between executables a file-based cache is used on a per-user basis. By default this cache will be created with the name format EMValueStore_<User SID>_<Session Id>.dat in the %TEMP% location. Since this variable defaults to C:\Windows\Temp this can present issues when restricting permissions to temporary locations. The

    ValueStorePath
engineering setting allows you to control where this cache is held.

    Detail

This value should be created as follows:

    Registry Key: HKLM\Software\AppSense\Environment Manager\
    Value Name: ValueStorePath
    Value Type: REG_SZ
Value Data: Path to the folder that should house the session variable cache.

CAUTION: The path to the folder needs to be literal. Environment variables cannot be used to set this path.
