How to sign in as 'root' on the CSA (Cloud Service Appliance)

    Issue

     

    An Ivanti EPM Administrator is interested in making changes to the Cloud Service Appliance as the root user.

     

    Solution

     

    Making any changes to the CSA via root renders the CSA unsupported, or best effort, if something goes wrong. It is recommended to backup the CSA before taking this action:

     

     

    1. Enter "sudo su" in the command line while connecting to the CSA via telnet.
    2. Enter the CSA's administrator password. Press enter.

     

    Root access should be granted.
