Unable to delete an endpoint from Endpoint Analysis

    Within the Application Manager console it is not possible to remove an endpoint from within Endpoint Analysis if the Application Usage scan is enabled. This is by design and the recommendation would be to stop the scan prior to deleting the machine. If the endpoint no longer exists in the environment it will not be possible to stop the usage scan and the following steps can be carried out. Please be advised that it is recommended to only use these steps if the endpoint no longer exists. if the endpoint does still exist in the environment, please review the following article if you are unable to stop the scan:

    Steps to remove endpoints which no longer exist

     

    • Close the Application Manager console
    • Browse to %ProgramData%\AppSense\Application Manager\Endpoint Analysis
    • Open endpoints.epa in a text file editor
    • Search for the filename
    • Remove the entire line for he endpoint (Example below)
      •   <Device ClassName="AM.Device.1001" Host="DB-WIN7-CLIENT" />
    • Save and close the file
    • Open the Application Manager console
    • Select Endpoint Anlsysis


    You should now find that your endpoint has been removed from the console.
