Microsoft provides the MSXML core services to be used by developers for XML transactions via HTTP connections.
Currently supported is MSXML 6.0 see: MSXML Roadmap
This article will explain that Ivanti Service Desk is compatible with version 6 (current release as of date)
As some customer might still use version 4, they should proceed to upgrade to latest version, after system tests with other software might depending on MSXML.
What is MSXML
MSXML provides a set of services that allow customers who use JScript, VBScript and Microsoft Visual Studio (2005 and later versions)
to build high-performance XML based applications that provide a high level of interoperability with other applications that adhere to the XML 1.0 standard.
These services are been shipped with the OS and not installed by Ivanti Service Desk.
Ivanti Service Desk is not reliant of these Services and therefore supports latest version to be installed on the servers.
1) verify in "Program and Features" that MSXML < version 6 is installed
2) use the "uninstall" option to remove MSXML < version 6

You do not need to follow the next steps if you are on Microsoft Windows XP SP3, Microsoft Windows Vista, and later operating systems.
These OSes ship with MSXML services and will receive updates via Windows Updates.
3) download latest version via Download Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 Service Pack 1 from Official Microsoft Download Center
4) run the MSI installation and follow Instructions
