High CPU Usage by ISSUser.exe

    Issue:

    ISSUser CPU utilization will remain high, even when remote control is not in use.

     

    Description:

    This can be caused if jscript.v55 is missing from the LDClient folder on the endpoint. Your ISSUser log files may contain the following error:

    JScriptHost.h(224) Unable to load C:\PROGRA~2\LANDesk\LDClient\jscript.v55

    JScriptHost.h(259) Failed to create instance of jscript ActiveX control.

     

    You can locate the ISSUser.log file in 'C:\ProgramData\Landesk\Log'

     

    Resolution 1:

    Create a software distribution task to copy the file 'jscript.v55' from '\\"Corename"\LDLogon' to the LDClient folder in your client installation directory, and reboot the client.

     

     

    Resolution 2:

    You can include the file 'jscript.v55 as part of the agent installation.

    From your core server, browse to the 'ManagementSuite\ldlogon' folder, and locate 'NTSTACFG.ini'

    Locate the following line:

    FILE38=isssec.dll, isssec.dll

    Paste the following in the line below:

    FILE50=jscript.v55

     

    Save, close, and launch your core console.

    Click Tools <- Configuration <- Agent Configuration

    Click the Rebuild All button. This will add the line to copy jscript.v55 too all of your Windows configurations. You will need to recreate any self contained executables, or advanced agents in order to include this file.

     

    If you want to only add this file to an individual configuration, you can locate the <agent name>.ini in LDLogon, and add the line in the same location. Please note that when the Rebuild All button is clicked, it will remove this line from the <agent name>.ini file.
