Can I use the privileges of user as defined on Windows Server for login into GoldMine?

    Resolution

    [INFORMATION]
This is Feature Request # 97029

    - The generic answer is NO you cannot.

    - When completely fresh GoldMine system is installed the current Windows User Accounts can be imported, but this are only the Windows Users Names not the related passwords

After that also a GoldMine user with Master rights can import further or more Windows Account Users via the User's Master File  (Tools >> User's  Settings >> Right Click >> Options >> Import Windows Users)

     BUT
    a. All Windows usernames longer than 8 characters will be cutoff (for example Administrator >> ADMINIST
    b.  The Windows password will and never can be taken over into GoldMine and  needs to be set by the users manually if they want to have the same
    c.  Even with the credentials in GoldMine setup identically to the user  name and password of the Windows user, the user still needs to manually  log into GoldMine (there is no pass through possibility) - there is a  possibility to adjust the desktop / task bar icon with the GoldMine  switches /u:username /p:password but this would expose the information  in plain text and also is only for one user per desktop icon possible -  usually on their networked client)
    d. Password changes in Windows need to be done manually within GoldMine
