Version 1

    Details

What will change when using the Move Up/Move Down arrow when customizing user defined field in Opportunity or Project Manager?

    [STEPS TO PREPARE]
    1. With master rights
    2. Open Project Manager
or Opportunity Manager (setup User defined fields apply automatically to both features)3. Click Customize
    4. On the Field Tab > via New button create 3 new fields  a.
    UARRIVAL
    b.
    UDEPARTURE,
    c. UTRANSFER, 5
. Click OK and let GoldMine rebuild the database.

Due to your business workflows the following order of the user defined fields should be given, Departure, Transfer and finally Arrival. This is assumed to be accomplished with the Move Up and Move Down buttons in the Customization Properties > Fields tab

    [STEPS TO REPRODUCE]
    1. With master rights
    2. Open Project Manager or Opportunity Manager (setup User defined fields apply automatically to both features)3. Click Customize
    4. On the Field
    Tab
    5. Highlight UARRIVAL,  press twice Move Down  Button
    6. Verify that now the desired order is given in the field list
    7. Click OK
    8. Close and Open Project Manager or Opportunity Manager again and verify the view

    [RESULT]:
The order of the fields on the detailed view changed not at all and it seems that the Move Up and Move Down button are without any impact, so that the question arises what is changed by this customization.

    Resolution

    [RESOLUTION]
    - The Move Up/Move Down only applies in the current versions only to the Tab Other when creating or Editing an Opportunity or Project
    - The current functionality on the detailed view of Project or Opportunity Manager in GoldMine is that the additional user defined fields are placed alphabetically by the custom field name (if another order is necessary or desired, refer to Knowledge Article # 16439 for a Workaround)
    - This is RM
    Feature # 215429

    1. Go To > Projects (the same applies for
    Opportunities)
    2. New Project (Don't use the Wizard)
    3. Leave all as default on the New Project dialog and click OK
    4. Enter a Project name
    5. Click the Other Tab

When editing an existing Project or Opportunity
    1. Go To > Projects (the same applies for Opportunities)
