After you move GoldMine to a new server, do you need to re-install the client machines or can you just redirect them?
- All networked clients need to be re-directed after a server move. - If the new server and the clients are on the identical version and build no further actions other than re-directing to the new shared GoldMine path are necessary. - If the application server was also upgraded during the move, the networked clients need first to be redirected and then also upgraded, either manually or by the auto-upgrade feature within GoldMine. - It is not necessary to re-install the workstations from scratch but instead the local GM.INI's REALINI path needs to be adjusted with the new GoldMine shared path. 1. Browse to the GM.ini on the local machine (by default in C:\Program Files\GoldMine or C:\Program Files (x86)\GoldMine 2. Open the file in Notepad. 3. Change the REALINI= line to reflect the new UNC/Mapped drive path to the new server's GM.ini 4. Save the changes and close the file.
