No events of source FRS Application being logged from ITSM to the Windows Application event log.

    We have setup a new ITSM server for testing and have noticed that there are no events of source FRS Application being logged to the Application Event log. 

     


    Resolution

    On the application server open the registry (Start > Run > regedit) and check to see if the following key exists:


    "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\eventlog\Application\FRS Application"

    If this key does not exist you can:
    1. Export this key from a server running the same OS and same ITSM product version

    2. Import it into your registry on the server where the issue occurs. **This should only be done by an administrator that is familiar with working with the Windows registry and only after making a server snapshot for rollback if needed.

    3. Restart IIS and your FRS services

    You should now be able to see FRS Application entries in the Application Event Log
