Why is the database greyed out when upgrading an install of GoldMine?

    When upgrading the GoldMine Application Server installation, any Site Application Server or undocked users installations, when going through the upgrade/install wizard you are unable to change the database as its greyed out.  Why is this?


    When you perform any sort of Upgrade the GoldMine install will perform and upgrade of the active default database, therefore you will not be able to set a different database name as the install will take the currently active database from the GM.INI, GOLDIR= line and upgrade this database to the version being installed.

    Once the upgrade has finished you can change to a different contact set database via the GoldMine application which will then be automatically upgraded when you open the database the first time.
