GoldMine installer hangs while scanning the "Mailbox\Attach\" directory on installations that have a large mailbox attachment folder and file structure.
The issue is the result of the GoldMine installer scanning the "Mailbox\Attach\" directory along with the subfolders of the GoldMine application directory during the upgrade process.
1) On the Server, or the undocked workstation, locate the GoldMine email attachments folder.
Normaly this folder will be located in C:\ProgramData\GoldMine or on older 32bit operating systesm C:\Program Files\GoldMine.
2) Move the folder "Mailbox\Attach\" to another drive or another location outside of the GoldMine application folder.
3) Upgrade GoldMine.
4) Move the "Mailbox\Attach\" directory back to it's original location.
A long Term Solution for resolving this issue is to move the mailbox\attach folder to a location outside of the GoldMine application folder by example C:\Goldmine\mailbox\attach\ using the GoldMine Document Mover Tool.
