    Does HEAT do any DNS caching that would cause problems with a DNS failover style for Database High Availability setup?


    Resolution

    Any caching of DNS to IPs would be on the OS or network level.

    If you want to check for any IPs being manually coded into HEAT, DB connection strings are defined in 3 places (one flat files and two Database tables:

    ConfigDB Connection String is kept here:
    {intsall folder}\HEAT\CentralConfig\ConnectionStrings.config

    The rest are kept in the ConfigDB in these tables:
    Landscape
    DBServers (note the RecID from this table's entries ties to entries in the Tenants table)
