    How to Create a Read Only View for Call Logging Users.


    Resolution

     

    Setting Users to a Read Only option:

     

    1.      Create a new Role named Read_Only in Administrator>> Security>> Roles.

    2.      With the Read_Only Role selected, set the following Objects/Tables with only View rights on the Rights tab.

     

    Security>> Roles>> Read_Only Role>> Rights tab.  Set all options other than below to either No or No Rights:

    Security>> Roles>> Read_Only Role>> Tables tab:

     

    Set all tables in this list to View only.

     

    3.      When it is time to transfer people to the Read_Only Role, simply go to Administrator>> Security>> Users, select that User and change his/her Security Role to Read_Only on the General tab.  If you need a faster way to migrate multiple people to the Read_Only Role, then select Security>> Roles, select the Read_Only role and select the Users tab.  Then change the Members of Other Roles drop down to each role where users exist and use the Add button to move them from their original Role to the Read_Only Role.
