Version 1

    Details

    Using the increase button / arrow for System Settings >> Display >> Limits will cause GoldMine to recognize the digit grouping symbol ',' as decimal symbol and changing the values for example from 10,000 to 10 instead

    [SYMPTOMS]
    User may recognize that
    a. lists like Activity list or Contact Search Center are limited to an unusual amount of entries, for example instead of 1000 as prior, they can see now only 1 entry regardless of the criteria they are using

    Contact Search Center before:

    Contact Search Center after:

    b. that SQL Query limit seems to be 10, instead of the previous 10000
    SQL Query limit before:

    SQL Query limit after:

    [STEPS TO REPRODUCE]
    1. Log in with master rights
    2. Tools >> Configure >> System Settings
    3. Tab Display
    4. In section Limits the current settings are for example for
    a. Maximum records shown in Contact Search Center ... = 1000
    b. Maximum number of records shown in SQL Query results = 10000

    5. use the increase button / arrow for increasing the number for example
    a. Maximum records shown in Contact Search Center ... = 1100
    b. Maximum number of records shown in SQL Query results = 10100

    Note: one can see the different format from before as the settings are now shown with the Windows systems grouping digits symbol 1,100 and 10,100

    6. OK
    7. Verify the behavior with a search in the Contact Search Center or a SQL query
    >> RESULT: as shown in the Symptoms section, instead of expected 1100 records in the Contact Search Center and 10100 in the SQL Query window it shows limits of 1 in the Contact Search Center and 10 in the SQL Query window

    Resolution

    [CAUSE]
    - GoldMine does not recognize the digit grouping symbol as such, but instead as a decimal symbol

    - this can be verified either in the GoldMine interface via
    1. Log in with master rights
    2. Tools >> Configure >> System Settings
    3. Tab Display
    4. In section Limits the current settings are now  for
    a. Maximum records shown in Contact Search Center ... = 1
    b. Maximum number of records shown in SQL Query results = 10

    or in the GM.INI >> section [USER-OVERRIDE:GOLDMINE]
    (on the GoldMine shared folder on the GoldMine application server or locally for undocked users)

    [user-override:GoldMine]
    MSSQLMaxBrowseRecs=1
    SearchTopRec=1
    SQLQueryLimit=10

    [WORKAROUND]
    always set manually the desired limits for both values without any digit grouping symbols

    1. Log in with master rights
    2. Tools >> Configure >> System Settings
    3. Tab Display
    4. In section Limits the current settings are now  for
    a. Enter manually into Maximum records shown in Contact Search Center ... = 1100
    b. Enter manually into Maximum number of records shown in SQL Query results = 10100

    5. OK
    6. Verify now the behavior
    >> RESULT: as expected now the limits are 1100 records in the Contact Search Center and 10100 in the SQL Query  window

    Additional Note: Changing these limits to very high numbers may impact the overall performance of GoldMine
