How do you modify the default State Transitions for Change? e.g. to allow a Change to be set from Requested back to Logged?

    The available Status values for a Change record are determined by the current Status. There may be a need to change the default process flow, for example to allow a user to set the record back to Logged after it has already progressed to Requested. By default, this option is not available.


    To modify the State Transition flow for Change, you can follow these steps:

    1. Log into the Admin role
    2. Select Configure Application
    3. Select Business Objects
    4. Select Change
    5. Select Fields
    6. Select Status
    7. In the Validation section, click Values next to the Pick List
    8. Click Add
    9. There are three values required; for this example, we will allow Logged to be selected when the record is in Requested status
    10. For Next Status; choose Logged
    11. For Current Status; choose Requested
    12. For Sort Order, enter 20. This determines the order the values appear in the drop down list.
    13. Click Save
    14. Click Close

    Now any Change in Requested Status will have the option to select Logged as the next Status (after refreshing the browser).
    Similar steps can be followed to construct any new process flow, with Next Status being the list of values available when the Current Status is in effect.
