"install is not directly upgradeable" error when running the setup for GoldMine
This error is due to the upgrade detecting that the install locally is either installed directly to the server or the registry keys are incorrectly set for the current GoldMine install.
WARNING: If this appears on the server, please backup the GoldMine root directory before proceeding.
1. Delete the following keys from the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths [gmw.exe | gmw7.exe | gmw6.exe]
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths [gmw.exe | gmw7.exe | gmw6.exe]
NOTE: Some machines may not contain all of the registry keys above.
2. Uninstall GoldMine from the Windows Control Panel > Programs & Features
3. Delete the GoldMine folders under Program Files (x86) and Program data if they exist.
4. Re-run the setup file for GoldMine install
